Before and After - Dining Area

The closed off living area was a bit cramped and closed off to the den and kitchen, so we decided to switch up the layout of the areas and open them all up. We never went into the den, so knocking down wall in-between and switching the areas made much more sense.

This was major. Removing two load bearing walls and opening up two closed off, small rooms into one large, open space with much more natural light. We couldn't be more excited about the outcome.

Before and After - Kitchen

This picture really encompasses how the kitchen felt. If you can't tell, this picture was taken in the middle of the day - you can see the light trying to come in the windows. Dark, dungeon-like with florescent lighting and 60-year-old linoleum flooring. Also, you can't see it from this angle, but across from the fridge was an unusable area that was desk-like with the counter top and nothing underneath.

Everything was taken down to the studs and replaced! New mudroom with a bench and pantry replaced the odd desk area. Kitchen was moved forward and opened up to the living and dining area.
